Kristie Guthrie is a nationally Board Certified Licensed Professional Counselor; the founder and executive director of a private practice, Hope Counseling Services. Kristie is a graduate of Geneva College and earned her Masters Degree in Counseling and Guidance at Carlow University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Grief Counselor, Certified Online Counselor, and Certified Secondary School Counselor. She is a member of the American Counseling Association, the American School Counselor Association and International Society of Mental Health.   Kristie has published articles for Liveperson and Memory-Of.

Kristie has worked with families for over 20 years. She has experience working with adults and children both privately and within a group setting, She has supported clients with a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, marital and family issues, weight management and self-mutilation.  She has worked on a number of research studies as a senior research associate. While earning her masters degree, Kristie also worked in foster care as an adoption specialist and case manager.

Today, Kristie sees clients who are struggling with day-to-day concerns, parenting challenges, anxiety, depression, balancing family and career, food and other addictions and marital issues. As a therapist Kristie’s mission is to walk alongside the client in their journey. She does not desire to lead or to walk behind. “ It is in these moments as we walk together that true healing begins.” She will support her clients thru non-traditional ways, e-mail, telephone, texting, and live on-line support between sessions if necessary. She also offers specialized therapy in the area of grief and loss. Kristie offers face to face sessions in her office in the Mars area.  She also offers non-traditional therapeutic sessions via online, telephone, and cellular text.
